Welcome to RBL Harwell Village Club. This social club welcomes families and friends and also new members. Membership is not just for Service Men or Women past or present, it's open to everyone, just contact the club for an application form.
You will find a nice friendly environment to enjoy your leisure time in. We provide a well stocked bar.
The club used during the day as a community facility. On Tuesdays the Poppies Tea Rooms are open, either for a cooked meal or afternoon tea.
The club is also available during the week for hire and the facilities are excellent for all kinds of classes, courses, workshops or any other need. Please contact the club on 01235 221126 or alternately on 01235 835870 for the Club Secretary.
Do call in to see us and check out our club facilities. We run a very thriving Darts team both Ladies and Men and are always on the lookout for more interested players. Our Snooker tables are first class and well used on most evenings and on the weekends. We have a very successful Aunt Sally team and are hopeful that this may become two teams next season. We are also supported by Harwell Village Football and Harwell Village Rugby Club and also by Harwell Village Bowls Club and Harwell Village Tennis Club.
There are always events being held at the club and you can check out what is going on by looking at the activities section on the website.
For the past 10 years Harwell Village Club has battled with a declining membership and spiralling costs. The solid support from its older service members has disappeared as they have sadly in most cases passed on. It’s true to say that the club has come close on several occasions to closing its doors but hopefully it may now be looking at something of a revival in fortunes.
The club is part of a consortium that is looking at ways of raising funds to build new changing facilities for sports clubs on the Recreation ground. Members of these clubs are also members of the Legion and by using the facility are keeping the club open and strengthening its support.
